In order to maintain and improve the alerting and reporting function of the Log Monitoring service, the Data Research Analyst will work with the security engineering team on researching Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Firewall, Application and Operating System (OS) security and diagnostic events to maintain NTT Security database of Common Events and software error (SE) mappings.



  • Investigate security and diagnostic log events using the Internet and various other available resources.
  • Write detailed and intuitive descriptions of events researched in the form.
  • Use Managed Security Service Platform technologies to assign SE numbering to researched events and rationalize the appropriate mapping to s.
  • Become subject matter experts in various forms of IDS, Firewall, Application, and Operating System technologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment in analyzing and escalating events of interest.
  • Play an active role in supporting continuous process improvement.
  • Remain flexible with shift and task assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Excellent working knowledge of Internet and search engine usage.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Network/system administration education and/or experience
  • Basic knowledge of information security, networks, network devices
  • Ability to work well independently and productively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to make sound decisions
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must possess excellent problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate intensity, focus and urgency with good composure
